Robert W. Goodson – Attorney Biography
Robert Goodson is the regional managing partner of the Washington, DC office and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Bert has a well-earned reputation as an outstanding litigator who defends medical and professional malpractice suits on behalf of physicians, hospitals, managed care organizations, nursing homes and other health care entities. He has also represented health care professionals in disciplinary and privileging matters. Bert represents the largest group of physicians in the area and is generally requested for his experience and insight on high-exposure cases. With more than 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer, Bert has been the lead counsel on more than 175 jury trials.
Bert has extensive experience in other areas of complex litigation, including product liability, legal malpractice and premises liability. In addition, he is a frequent lecturer and conducts seminars on risk management issues for various professional groups. He served on the District of Columbia Bar Association committee responsible for proposed revisions in the District of Columbia Pattern Jury Instructions. Bert also heads the Health Care practice in Washington, DC, which has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America as a Tier I law firm in the area of medical malpractice.
