Thomas Anderson is a Partner in the Hartford Office of Morrison Mahoney LLP. Mr. Anderson’s practice focuses on the defense of medical malpractice, professional liability, general liability and other complex insurance defense and tort litigation. Since joining the firm, he has headed the Hartford’s Medical Malpractice Group.
Attorney Anderson has earned the highest rating of “AV-Preeminent” by his peers through Martindale-Hubbell. For several years, he has also been designated a Super Lawyer® in both Connecticut Magazine’s Super Lawyers edition and New England Super Lawyers edition. Attorney Anderson also received board certification in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board Of Trial Advocacy.
Over the last 25 years, Mr. Anderson has tried numerous cases, successfully defending physicians, hospitals and other professionals in a variety of cases. During this period of time, he has also tried wrongful death and other high exposure general negligence and personal injury actions. He is also called upon to represent professionals and businesses in a variety of complex lawsuits throughout the State of Connecticut. As part of his practice, Mr. Anderson also represents professionals before the Connecticut Department of Public Health and other regulatory bodies.
In addition to his trial practice, Mr. Anderson also regularly provides counseling and risk management services to his clients and is a frequent speaker on issues relating to health care law, trial practice and the defense of medical negligence claims. During the last several years, Mr. Anderson has been called upon to give frequent lectures on various litigation, trial practice, health care and malpractice topics, including “The Basics of Civil Trial Practice in Connecticut,” “Connecticut Evidence,” “Federal Medicare’s Super Lien,” “New Physician’s Practice-Legal Perspective” and “Shoulder Dystocia Litigation,” He has also authored a number of written and audio visual materials, including a handbook on Connecticut Medical Malpractice law; and a series of pod casts on various risk management issues, including informed consent, curbside consults and documentation.
Mr. Anderson is a graduate of the University of Vermont (B.A. in 1981) and the University of Tulsa College of Law (J.D. in 1984). He is admitted to practice in both Connecticut (1988) and Massachusetts (1985) and has been a practicing attorney since 1984.
