Senators Begin Offering Amendments to Affordable Care Act

side note: The sausage-making process behind this healthcare bill is about to start getting more contentious (if that’s possible), as senators try to augment the Senate bill with amendments. Expect further confrontation as the Affordable Care Act is finalized.

Senators are beginning to submit a torrent of amendments to the big health care legislation.

First up was an amendment by Senator Barbara Mikulski, Democrat of Maryland, to increase preventive health services for women at little or no cost to the patients, by eliminating or reducing co-payments and other cost sharing.
