General Star Announces New Admitted Advantage Physicians and Surgeons Program in California and Nevada

General Star Management Company is pleased to announce the introduction of its admitted General Star Advantage Physicians and Surgeons Program into California and Nevada.

General Star has long been a leader in the medical malpractice marketplace through its Select and Special Risk Physicians Programs and its Miscellaneous Healthcare Facilities Program, all of which are written on a non-admitted basis through General Star Indemnity Company in those states in which they are available, except Connecticut where the programs are written through General Star National Insurance Company.

General Star’s growing presence in the admitted market reflects its continuing commitment to serving the needs of its customers in this segment. Patricia Roberts, President and CEO of General Star stated, “The extension of our Advantage Program into California and Nevada further demonstrates our commitment to the medical malpractice sector and our ability to develop innovative and timely insurance coverage solutions to meet current market demands.”

The General Star Advantage program is currently available in Illinois and Ohio (for anesthesiologists only). Expansion into additional states is planned.

Coverage under the Advantage Program in each of the aforementioned states is provided on an admitted basis through General Star National Insurance Company, which is domiciled in Connecticut and rated A++ by A.M. Best and AAA by Standard & Poor’s.
