Family of Prince files lawsuit in MN against doctor, Walgreens and hospital system

The family of Prince has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against a doctor in which the family feels he failed Price by failing to treat his opioid addiction and providing him with narcotics without a proper prescription.

The Minnesota lawsuit also names the physician’s former employer, North Memorial Health, Walgreens and UnityPoint Health as defendants.  They claim that “their negligence in providing adequate care” played a major role in the Prince’s death.

UnityPoint Health is the system in which Prince received medical care when his plane had to make an emergency landing, days before the rock star died.
